Talk Tubes
An old-school concept, our stainless-steel Talk Tubes allow children to talk, sing, or whisper across the playground. This encourages social interaction, cooperative, and imaginative play, and it is also a fun way to learn about how sound is transmitted.
The Talk Tubes system features a 3-inch rigid MDPE pipe that transmits sound clearly, even allowing soft whispers to be heard. Each kit includes 12 meters (40 feet) of piping, with optional 6-meter (20-foot) extension kits available for purchase, extending the range up to 50 meters (160 feet). The system includes large stainless steel 'sound cones' designed for optimal sound capture while minimizing outside noise interference. These cones are installed at two different heights to accommodate various age groups and come with anti-debris mesh to prevent water ingress.
Talk Tubes are ideal for encouraging sound exploration and active listening skills. They are inclusive for all family members, including those with limited mobility, and are perfect for enhancing playgrounds, sensory paths, or walkways with fun, interactive elements.
