C Major Pentatonic (A2-D5)
Inspired by the traditional xylophone and the largest member of the Ugandan percussion family, the Akadinda is an excellent choice for outdoor musical play.
This enormous, accessible instrument can accommodate up to four players, making it ideal for bringing people together for impromptu performances. It offers great fun with its rich, resilient notes made from hardwood, which produce a natural, mellow, low tone tuned to the pentatonic scale in C major (A2-D5). Due to its size, the sound is quite loud!
Traditionally, the base of an Akadinda was constructed from banana stems. Since banana stems are not available, our frame is made from treated timber, suitable for installation into the ground or mounting on a surface.
The Akadinda is perfect for improvising and experimenting with music while enjoying the fresh air.
